my family goes shopping all the time in the us , since we live in canada , and a bronzer here , is about $30 , sometimes more , while in the states my aunt %26amp;cousin bought the same bronzer for $15 , i'd stick to getting youre makeup in the states if i were you , (:

I want to start my own mineral makeup business, like coastal scents, but I can't seem to find where to buy the raw ingredients for a wholesale or really cheap price. I want to buy all of the ingredients seperate so that I can make my own makeup. This would include mica powders, iron oxide colors, titanium dioxide, etc. All of the things that go in mineral makeup such as foundation and eyeshadow. YES, I KNOW... $385.00 is alot UPFRONT. But let's think about this... You get 83 different colors. Each container is 1 ounce, and one ounce is 6 tablespoons... For me, one lipgloss calls for 1/2 tablespoon, so I can get 12 lipglosses from one ounce- or 996 lipglosses from the whole set of 83. Divide the cost by the product- $385 / 996= $0.38 PER lipgloss. Of course that's for the color only, but I think it's pretty darn good for someone planning to do it on their own, and can't buy products in amounts of 20,000 pieces at a time. :) ...Hopefully I didn't confuse you TOO much!!! airport duty free shops are actually not cheaper when it comes to make up. i always check the stuff they have, but seems like ppl really buy make up there cus they just need to have it with them where ever they're heading to. it's bettet to hit the mall, more options and stores to choose from. also dont forget to hit walmart, walgreens or anykinda drug store on the way. there are somethings u can really end up LOVING, regardless of where u bought them. and it's cheaper too...also check sites like avon, or drugstore.com for those online deals.

I've signed up for salehoo.com and worldwidebrands.com and it's really been a pain in the **** because these wholesalers aren't selling it for wholesale prices!

Mac dosn't sell wholesale to any company. Your best bet is to see if you qulify for a macpro card (macpro.com) and apply for that. Then you get a discount (up to 40% off). Once and a while there are estee lauder/mac sales in some places...where many items are 70% off.
I suggest that you go directly to the Mac website. Or if you have a Mac store in your area?
Check out eBay for lots of MAC cosmetics. Make sure that the seller has a good rating before purchasing from them.

their eyeshadow lasts forever, so definitely buy as much of that as you want. i found their foundation wasnt the greatest, and their mascara was overrated but their liquid eyeliner is top 5. their lipglass lipgloss is amazing too. id say just buy whatever you feel like. most of its worth it.
and no, the MAC we have here actually will do your makeup for free, so i think thats kind of the sample itself or whatever. i dont know if they do that like everywhere but id ask regardless.

really, if you want good quality cosmetics you want to go with a decent brand.. places like boots and superdrugs arent half as good as some of the stuff you can buy on counters. benefit do lovely mascaras - bad gal lashes is my favorite, ive used all the high street ones rimmel, barry m, loreal ect.. but once i used bad gal lashes im never going to use another. mac do lovely lipsticks, eyeliners and as for foundations, bare minerals is amazing and is made by crushed minerals so you wont get any spots like the cheap ones.

I only buy cruelty-free products from my face lotion, shampoo, detergent, soap, bathroom cleaner. I love seventh generation, dr. hauschska, avalon organics, jasons.. etc..How many of you only buy cruelty-free products from cosmetics to household item?
I don't only buy cruelty-free products, because I've got quite a few products that I like that work well for me, so I don't see the point in switching. Some of the all-natural stuff I've found actually didn't work for me... I just kind of go for what works. But I can totally see the point of going cruelty-free. If my face liked more products, I'd be more apt to switching.

Where can I buy old MAC cosmetics collections?
So I'm an aspiring makeup artist and I'm really trying to build up my MAC collection. However, there are some products from old collections(i.e. Emanuel Ungaro, Barbie Loves MAC, etc.) that I REALLY want but they don't sell anymore at the store :(

As you maybe already know, there are lots of dodgy, counterfeit 'MAC' products around on eBay and elsewhere, so it's hard to find a reliable source for past collections.
Some of the most knowledgeable and genuine sellers (and buyers!) I have found are on Specktra. Try registering at http://www.specktra.net and once you've made 20 posts, you'll gain access to the 'Clearance Bin' where members can buy and sell.

There's no official maximum, but it depends on the sales person you get. They may give you as many as you ask for, they may give you one or none. Just ask, if they say no, or only give you some of them, ask for more the next time.

As you're aware MAC is really expensive and they generally don't give out samples I'm afraid.
If you're a fan of the highly pigmented colours I'd suggest you try Barry M instead. The dazzle dusts are fantastic and much more affordable. Their glitter eye liners are also wonderful

if you cant really afford mac then go to your Outlet mall and they usually have a CCO (cosmetics company outlet) which sells mac makeup really discounted. like eyeshadows for 10 instead of 14 and powders for like 18 instead of 28. so yeah its a pretty good deal. also, ask your parents for money when you go clothes shopping and save some money from the amount of money they give you.each time like save 10 dollars each time you go to the mall and soon it will addd up! also see if you can do chores for any of your neighbors or your family for money or babysitting or something. good luck! also dont waste your moeny on food and crap when you go shopping. like i used to wsate 20 bucks out of a hundred on just drinks like strbucks and waterbotles and stuff! but now that i dont really eat at the mall i have more momney to spend on makeup!How can I save money to buy MAC cosmetics?
As you're aware MAC is really expensive and they generally don't give out samples I'm afraid.
If you're a fan of the highly pigmented colours I'd suggest you try Barry M instead. The dazzle dusts are fantastic and much more affordable. Their glitter eye liners are also wonderful

The MAC eyeshadow palettes do not come pre made. You have to buy the eyeshadows in pan form and the palette separately. The only place they can be purchased is MAC Pro. You do not need a membership to order over the phone. Go to MAC Pro and pick out the eyeshadows you want and give them a call.

I kind of got bummed out on smashbox's stuff. i was a huge fan of theirs til all the liners i got were dried up. then i learned also that Avon's lip gloss was better too! I had Tonnnnnss of smashbox's. I love their pink blush, but Avon's got one that's a compressed mineral powder by Jullian dempsey that's just as good. I wish I knew about it 2 years ago. the money I would've saved! grrrr
